To all Bay Credit Union Members,
BAY Credit Union Nominating Committee is seeking members who are interested in the exciting opportunity to serve a term on the Board of Directors. The Bay Credit Union strives to maintain a diverse Board, comprised of leaders from all walks of life who reflect the community Bay Credit Union serves. These leaders help us ensure diversity of thought, background and experience on our Board.
Directors steward the Credit Union responsibly and ethically on behalf of all the membership. This challenging but rewarding role is ideal for individuals who have backgrounds in business, law, finance, community development, leadership and innovation. Having said that, not all Directors have all those skills and attributes at the beginning of their tenure. That should not discourage prospective Directors that show commitment to acquire the skills and attributes that make them effective and strategically important on the board. All Directors, current and past, are given continuous opportunities to gain new knowledge and insight. In fact, they are encouraged to do so!
Directors may spend approximately 10 hours a month preparing for and attending meetings. BAY Credit Union offers hybrid meetings, allowing flexibilty to attend remotely or in person. Directors often set aside more time for self development, community events and planning sessions. Committed and responsible Director’s are essential to the Bay Credit Union continuing to thrive. Being a Director is ideal for individuals interested in giving back to their community and learning more about governance and financial institutions.
